Lots to Do – What Do You Think of When You Hear the Word Feminism?
A workshop on sexism and intersectional feminism for high school students
What is your Project about?
The aim of my workshop is to engage the young target group with our society. The main focus is on providing knowledge about structural discrimination, especially sexism, in an accessible way. By designing the workshop for a school context, I want to spark political interest and strengthen the sense of community among the students through working together, which can serve as a foundation for future political engagement. In the workshop, they discuss in a safe space and learn that one doesn't have to be an expert to think about our society and one’s own position within it.
What inspired or motivated you to undertake this Project?
I wished that during my school years societal issues were given more importance, along with a sense of justice and a desire for change. That's why I designed this workshop, which invites students to collaboratively and independently explore important topics such as feminism.
