Kai
Oppermann
Whether it's a short film, children's book, or commissioned work, Kai prefers to communicate content with stories. Together with her characters, one experiences adventures, confronts fears, and explores colorful worlds. Kai finds it important to incorporate her own humor as well as empathy and warmth into the narrative. She became self-employed as an illustrator during her studies and published her first story with the picture book "Der Flunkerfunkelstein".
Pingu & Bear
Animated short about two friends and a fantastic journey
What is your project about?
"Pingu & Bear" is the story of two polar pals, a great journey full of ups and downs and a big dream of flying. This short film is sure to bring a smile to audiences faces.
What inspired you in particular?
For this short I looked for an amusing storyline that is fun to watch, whilst simultaneously providing the opportunity for action and expressive animation.
How did you grow during the process?
At first it was challenging to combine the different techniques. The backgrounds are painted analogously. The characters are animated frame by frame and the scenes are put together in a 3d-space.
