Life stories of three women
What is your work about?
Our short documentary is based on the drastic life experiences of three extraordinary women: Carola, Hilla and Ursula. The three women sharing their stories with the public in different ways makes this documentary much more unique, with the way they inspire and encourage others.
What in particular motivated or inspired you to create the project?
Our research initially focused on how women over 55 view themselves and their age. We wanted to show positive facets of ageing and develop a new perspective on the topic. When we got in touch with our three protagonists, we wanted to understand what shaped their lives and what they wish to share with others today.
What did you grow from in your process? Were there any particular challenges that you overcame?
We were on the move a lot and faced quite a few challenges during the ten-day shooting process. We had to stay flexible, especially on the more action-packed shoots, but we still enjoyed it! Bringing these three stories together in one movie was challenging, but it turned out to be an exciting puzzle that was a lot of fun to put together.
How could the project continue?
We hope that the film will inspire more women to share their life stories and encourage intergenerational exchange. Maybe there will be more stories that need to be heard and seen. If our documentary could contribute to this, that would be great!
