Viola finds most of her inspiration in conversations with other people or in the smalls things of her everyday life. She likes to observe, listens and trys to understand. She describes this charcteristic as one of her greatest strengths.
During her design studies, Viola was able to improve her ability to formulate, visualize and break down problems in order to able to solve them.
Defiant Threads
A special-interest-magazine about punk fashion and the subculture behind it
What is your work about?
It's about showing why people - in this particular case, punks - dress the way they do. The magazine “Defiant Threads” is intended to provide an insight into the history, development and background of the “punk” subculture. At the same time, it should inspire readers to approach fashion with more creativity and fun.
What inspired you to do that project?
I love it when people approach fashion with fun and creativity and simply wear whatever they want. I've always found it very admirable how people from different subcultures wear what they like despite social rejection.
How could the project continue?
Well... At least in theory, this project is intended to work as a magazine series... Maybe at some point there will be magzines about Lolita, Rockabilly, Gothic, etc..
