Uncovering the unseen: Mexico's missing people
Storytelling website that educates about the missing people in Mexico.
What is your project about?
My bachelor's project is about raising awareness regarding the missing people in Mexico. The aim is to draw attention to the issue, raise awareness and shed light on the different aspects of the disappearances. Through storytelling and in-depth research, I want to not only provide transparent and accurate information, but also highlight the urgency of this problem.
What inspired you in particular?
There are currently more than 114.000 missing people in Mexico, and the number is growing every day. Many people are unaware of the scale of the problem. Neither was I until I saw the many missing posters during my semester abroad in Mexico. I was shocked at how little is known about this problem outside Mexico and how much the state and organised crime are involved in the disappearances. It's not just a Mexican issue, it's a humanitarian issue and therefore a global concern.
